Lumber is delivered to our yard from all over Atlantic Canada, Quebec and the Northeastern United States. We purchase various species and grades of native hardwood and softwood lumber as well as some exotic hardwoods.

Once in our yard the lumber is carefully sorted and "stickered" in preparation for entering our 40,000 board foot dry kiln. We carefully kiln dry our lumber down to the 8% to 10% moisture content which is required for stable finish grade lumber suitable for moldings, windows, doors, cabinets etc…

After drying the lumber leaves the kiln and is carefully resorted and regraded to sort out any defects which may have developed during the drying process.

At Allen Custom Millwork we produce over 200 molding patterns from in stock "ready to go" knives. For that special project where you have to match an existing molding or you simply want something to call your own we’ll custom match any profile or pattern.
